I used to wonder if there was some great cosmic plan in life, like if your whole story was written out in the stars long before you or I were born. Maybe it was. I don’t know. What I do know is this:
We are the people we make ourselves. You may try and say that you are a product of your culture, society, bad parental decisions. Sure, those things have probably influenced you. But ultimately, you make you.
Nobody else can. Nobody else can show you how to draw your laughter into the sand, learn to hear music in the silence. I can’t do that for you. Nobody can.
What they can do though is tell you just how much joy there is in the little things, in the company of friends, in the whisper of the wind.
