“All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible.” T.E. Lawrence
I am a dreamer of the night, eyes tightly closed, fists closed, dead for all intents and purposes. When I wake up there is a brief, but golden moment, a time when the gauze flutters at my windows and I am not yet awake enough to remember that there are things I would rather forget.
You know, maybe that’s my problem. Maybe that’s why all the out-the-window-starers, day dreamers at school end up succeeding in life, being the happiest people. Maybe it’s because they’ve learned that dreams only come true if your eyes are wide open.
Maybe I should try it. Maybe you should too.
